I am a Scottish native, born in Glasgow. I have lived and taught in Charlotte's public, charter, and private schools for 19 years. Before that, I taught in Glasgow for 11 years. I have teaching licenses in K-6 education, Special Education, Academically and Intellectually Gifted Education, and a principals license. Scotland has impacted global education, pioneering universal education with its 1696 Act for Settling of Schools. Scottish universities, like the University of Edinburgh, have produced influential thinkers who shaped the Enlightenment. This legacy of accessible, high-quality education continues to influence modern systems worldwide.
Personalized learning is crucial for students as it tailors education to each child's unique strengths, needs, and interests. By adapting teaching methods and materials, personalized learning helps students engage more deeply. This approach fosters a love of learning, laying a strong foundation for future academic success and personal growth. This is at the heart of Scottish education.
Scottie dogs, or Scottish Terriers, are beloved for their distinctive appearance and spirited personality. Scotties are both charming and independent.

I have lived in Charlotte for 19 years, and now consider it home.
"Learning is always fun and includes music, movement, and builds on the interests of the learner." Jill
